Spanish will be taught this semester through the social studies class. Each class will receive one hour of Spanish instruction every 2 weeks. Don’t worry- I will not be teaching this class. Mrs. Smith, our Spanish teacher, will be teaching the class. The Spanish grade will count as 10% of their social studies grade. Each student will need to have a folder designated for Spanish instruction. We are very excited about this opportunity for our students to learn a foreign language.
Our Salvation Army Angel this year is a five year old girl. Her wish list includes a bike, Dora doll, doll house, and a barbie. You can purchase one of the items from the list or donate money and our class will buy the items. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
Last day to turn in field trip money is Friday, October 26th. The cost is $6 and it’s cash only.
Current event dates for this nine weeks have been assigned. Please check with your child to make sure they are prepared for their current event presentation.
Report cards will be sent home on Wednesday, October 24th. Please sign the report card envelope and return to your child’s homeroom teacher.
1) Please get out and sell the Little Red Devil Savings Card. Orders are due on Thursday, October 4th.
2) Please join the PTA. The cost is $12 for a family membership and $8 for an individual membership. We would like 100% participation. We will accept cash or checks. Make checks payable to GMS PTA.
3) Reflections Contest- The theme this year is “I can make a difference by…” Flyers were sent home on Monday, Oct.1st.
Current event presentation dates were assigned last Friday. The students wrote down their assigned date in their agenda book. Check the Social Studies Guidelines for more information.
We were notified today that interim reports will not be sent home until Monday, September 17th.
Power School information will be sent home this week. Parents will receive a username and password in the mail. Students will receive their username and password at school. Please keep your username and password private and do not lose them. I do not have access to your username or password.
